Big Game, Big Fun!

The Big Game is approaching, and it’s time to start party planning! Something about cold weather and sports always makes people in the mood for snacks. So a sizeable spread is a must-have!

 

To keep things really simple, you can’t go wrong with frozen pizzas. Green Way frozen pizzas are delicious right out of the box, but they also make a great base for additional toppings. You could let your guests build their own by setting out pepperoni, sausage, or chopped veggies.

Potato skins are another party-pleaser, and they are so easy to make. Top them with plenty of cheddar, chopped bacon, and chives for a salty, crunchy snack. By baking them instead of frying, you’ll get all the flavor without the extra grease.

Lastly, it would be remiss not to mention crowd pleasing buffalo wings. These ready to cook wings are a snap to prepare on a skillet or an air fryer (or on a grill, if you’ve got the access and can withstand the cold weather!). Add extra buffalo sauce or hot sauce to taste – but don’t forget to also include celery sticks, carrot sticks, ranch or blue cheese dip on the side.

 

Remember that in February, many people are still working on healthy habits to support their New Years’ Resolutions. So try to include a few healthier options among your feast. A tray of cut veggies with a couple of delicious dips will give your guests a nutritious snack while they watch the game. Guacamole, salsa, and French onion dip are as good on carrots as they are on chips.

 

To keep things lively while you watch the game, play a game of your own. You could do team trivia, or let everyone take their best guess on the outcome of the game. Or play “football bingo” using free printable bingo cards. You could print out cards for the gameplay, or for the commercials. Make sure to have a prize on hand for the winner!
